The
Solution :
The Audio Visual design team devoted considerable
consultancy time to refining the key requirements of the
customer and producing a specification for the new system.
This process involved focusing on the functional complications
of these demanding requirements and supporting the client's
on-site IT team to ensure suitability of the technology
proposed by Chase Park Technology LTD.
Using Exterity Video to LAN encoders and IP-aware decoders
College IT Technicians engineers are now able to "transmit"
live video images from any AV-source (using a simple SCART
connection) directly across the college computer network.
By utilising the Picture-in-Picture features of the Panasonic
PPDTH42PWD8b Plasma screens supplied the college are able
to display both live video from "any source"
and a Powerpoint based media presentation simultaneously
throughout the campus, from only location within the IT
department. Various mounting technologies were employed
respective of the varying locations for deployment and
included both wall and ceiling mounting.
This
installation is entirely self-supporting and bears a near
zero cost of ownership, the presentation can be updated
easily and quickly from a single terminal and requires
virtually no IT knowledge to maintain. Moreover the solution
is fully scalable, additional screens and decoders can
be added at any CAT5e terminal on the college network
and "video streams" can be transmitted directly
to the decoders IP address.
This
solution was deployed using the following products
Panasonic PPDTH42PWD8b Plasma screens
Unicol PLW wall mouting brackets
Unicol Axia high level free standing stands
Exterity encoders and decoders
